Default REDLINE 360c firmware 1.10

I too have lost Escort Live application ability to update bands on the app after updating the firmware. I was still able to set the bands through the manual mode on the radar itself. My question is what is the correct setting for MESTA Fusion (on or off)? I am in Texas and do not see any information pertaining to this setting. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

John

Personally I dont turn any of that on. The MESTA fusion is likely not in your area. I am not really even familiar with this at all so it's possible it's something that is in other countries other that the USA right now. Someone correct me if I am wrong please but I say you can turn it off.

Smile Follow up

2 interesting things following the update for firmware version 1.10 is having lost the band settings on Escort Live, however I set them manually. 1st, today I spoke to an Escort Rep who directed me to download the "Drive Smarter" application for apple or android and I set up the Redline 360c and it works fine with all band settings. 2nd, I was on the road the other night going 80 in a 75 and out of the blue comes a local city officer and pulls me over for doing 5 miles per hour over the speed limit. He was nice and gave me a warning. The curious thing is the radar detector did not beep and alert at all! His warning indicated he hit me with Laser and my settings are on. So my question or curiosity is that the laser beam has to be directly hitting the detector to go off??? Because mine did not. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yes.
The very narrow lidar beam has to directly hit either the front of the RD or the rear facing light tube on the RD. That is unlikely in most instances. The closer he is to you when he fires it the more unlikely it becomes. Even if he did strike you on the RD your speed would probably have been recorded by his lidar anyway as the RD went off. That is why you would need shifters since the RD is basically just a ticket notifier whereas the shifters will interfere with the lidar's return signal instantly so it does not register on his lidar gun.

Thank you Poolmon for your comments. Thats exactly right.... Unfortunately, the detector really does nothing to protect you from getting a ticket when the Cop is using Laser. The only thing it does IF it even goes off at all will be to notify you to go ahead and pull over.

I have often thought of how nice it would be to have a detector that could also shift laser beams but thats just not possible unless of course it is an installed unit like Escorts Max360ci that includes the Shifters. You can also get the shifters by themselves, and they will sync with your detector, but you have to install those sensors outside front of the car near the headlights in your grill. I do my own installs so that's saves some money, but it did take time, research, and experience over time to get it right.

I am leaving the link for you to look at what they have available to help protect you from these laser encounters in the future.

Since the upgrade, MultaRadar has been going nuts. There is a specific place in my area that it will go off every time, and then it stays on alerting until the detector is power cycled.

Anyone else having this issue?

I have not heard of the issue but most people I know have that band turned off due to a number of falses and rely upon the GPS alerts. In any event it should not require a recycle so maybe try a factory reset and if continues call Escort.

I actually thought mrcd and mrct was better with 1.10 in NYC, but since there isn't a way to turn it off above a set speed, I turned it off altogether in favor of defender database and Waze.
