Default Stir Plus International Software

Radar detectors are to be banned in Western Australia from 12 October.
I need to delete the radar and laser software to stay lega otherwise cop a $1200 fine.
But I have been advised by your distributor here, Neltronics that the current download software of Detector Tools will cause the unit to malfunction.

When will you have a fix for this problem software for Stir Plus.
THIS IS NOW URGENT for all installed users in this country.

It's been discontinued so I wouldn't expect anymore updates for it.

Escort is a small company, all of their customer service representatives are working from home. 2020 - the year that just keeps on giving...

Maybe remove it? The http://www.beltronics.com/manuals/ST...tallManual.pdf might be helpful in locating what needs to be removed.

Other than that you could call Escort Customer support right after they open at 9:00 A.M. USA Eastern time for advice.

Wait for the pause following the message and use the option for a call back.

Once the queue gets full for the day the call back option is gone and you'll have to wait and call back on a different morning.

Escort customer service 1-800-543-1608, option 2, Monday through Friday, EST.

Early is a must!

Although Cedar Electronics owns the rights to Beltronics this is an Escort product support forum so I'm going to close this thread.

Any moderator can open it if they want.

Thanks for understanding!

To avoid a fine and demerits it appears the new law requires you to remove it, doesn't appear deleting or updating the software somehow would make a detector legal in Western Australia or maybe in all of Australia.

"Drivers caught with a radar detector fitted to their car or other light vehicle - operational or not - will be issued with a $1200 on the spot infringement and seven demerit points."

Drivers of a truck or other heavy vehicle will receive a $1500 infringement and seven demerit points.

On a double demerit point long weekend, this would result in a loss of licence."

Comments attributed to Police and Road Safety Minister Michelle Roberts:

"It's taken Western Australia 20 years to catch up with the rest of the country, but I'm pleased we have at long last been able to ban radar detectors.

"We are deliberately giving people plenty of warning before these new penalties come into effect.

"If you've got one of these devices on your vehicle, then get rid of it.

"For years the Liberals ignored this important area of road safety policy, designed to save lives.

"These devices have always been about enabling people to speed without being caught and I'm really glad this Government is putting a stop to it."
