That's more good news, Larry. I'm glad to see that there's steady work on improving the Max.

Though... I do see the value in being able to selectively disable portions of the most obnoxious frequency blocks on Ka for those who desire it. Today I got one of my first Max Ka falses, a 35.3. There was an RD on the windshield of an Audi that passed me, so no telling what the source was

I agree.

As I have stated elsewhere I get certain freqs that just decide to alert and there is no reasonable source I can see around. I'm out in the boonies, no cars nearby, I can see miles in any direction but some of the freqs just pop and complain for no reason.

If it were a scanner (much of what a radar detector does today is like what a scanner does when it is doing limit scans) depending on the quality of the device I can lockout a particular frequency and let it carry on.

Just because I have a noisy "birdie" perhaps, shouldn't mean that I must hear it each time the noise floor drops for my given area. There must be many ways of making it go away.

If we, the user, the owner, at the end of the day, could see the intercepts we got and how often they occurred (maybe even with GPS coordinates and signal strength) we could see a pattern develop that would make us more aware of what was real and what was a threat.

We could even HELP ESCORT in identifying differences in hardware vs. devices in our own cabin that cause the falses.

As many are already aware, I use video in helping to determine anomalies and failures and conquests. It would be a very welcome addition to have access to the data may MAX keeps on a day to day basis. Obviously we can't have access to some of the proprietary data like the locations of RLC/SC/Combo locations but the little we get from Escort Live is noting more that eye candy that shows that we had an intercept as well as the time, date and band.

For the $$$ we spend on the MAX we should get something more than a somewhat better performing 9500ix.

Please?

Well said sir! We spent A LOT of money for a product that (for some) is not delivering on it's promises. For the most part I have been annoyed with K band and unimpressed with KA. I really hope Escort addresses Max's shortcomings.

This supports my idea (probably not original) of crowdsourcing falses. Recording the frequency of falses on particular radio frequencies, they could assess what their equipment is falsing on in the field - reported via EL. Then fix it with software or allow some form of segmentation to fix it.

That, and letting users report falses (as we currently report "positives") and other users accept them as gospel (or not). Imagine going to an area you've never traveled to before, but you are using other EL users' lockouts to keep your ride safe but quiet.

Leveraging croudsourcing is where the future is...

No. I am just bored.

My vehicle has a MAX but I will need to go get it and bring it inside to test the MAX DT for MACS. Then I will have a MAX.

Did I buy a MAX, or do I own a MAX?

Yes.

I will say that your question has won an award somewhere.

well

what award do yo think I won and where would that be?

and what's wrong, I ask a simple question and it gets weird in my view.

Is this NOT plenty enough range to slow down and be saved from a ticket? I've owned V1 long enough to respect and like those ultra long detections especially when there is company in the vehicle. These days friend and family are like "woa your RD tracks a map with other people on a live network that's FF'n cool" because they knew how much I loved my V1's. I weigh in MAX's great range + false alert suppression + Live = winner RD here folks. I had flawless live use on my newly purchased Galaxy S4. I'm pumped as ever for the next firmware update.
