Smile MAX 360C in PA

Hi.
I have MAX360C over a year, and cannot complain about this device. Everything is working fine and it paid for itself many-many times.
But I realized one very interesting thing:
Every 2 weeks I have to drive to the western PA from NYC.
I have to cross NJ and my radar is warning me very accurate about... Ďpotentialí problems hiding on the road.
After Iím crossing border between NJ and PA my radar becomes silent, like nobody is using radars in PA.
Do they use frequencies, what my radar filters out?
I see it for over a year.

Thank you!

This sounds to me like itís a warning from the Defender database installed on your detector. If you have a Defender subscription, let me suggest that you update Defender on your Max 360c via Detector Tools. Defenderís database is updated weekly, so this ďthreatĒ might not exist in the database now.

Thank you!

This is not DB. I’m passing on my way many police cars in PA, but never was warned about radars.
I don’t see this in NY, NJ and Connecticut. In PA
It shows MD, sometimes K for speed metering signs, but never reacted to police radars.
Does police use radars in PA?
This is my concerns.

Interesting timing on your question. Donít think it is the detector. A post on another forum indicated that only state police in PA are able to use radar and they only use k band. Canít confirm or deny, just passing along someoneís input. I have a 360C as well and trust it. Also remember these are radar detectors and not police detectors. Not every police car is running radar. I have passed many police cars and nothing from the 360C.

Make sure you have all radar and laser band enables on.

Also be aware that:
- AutoNoX SEN mode will not alert you to X band radar.
- All Auto SEN modes reduce radar sensitivity based on your speed. When stopped or traveling slowly, X and K band detection range is reduced significantly.

That is correct about Pennsylvania. Only the State Police are allowed to run radar and it is K band.
