Default First Week with Max 360

Still trying to get used to it. Wondering if it has been money well spent. Good thing I have 30 days. I have noticed it alerting on LASER but I see no LEOs around as well as Ka band. I guess that is to be expected. It did alert on a Ka band and I saw the cop moving in opposite lane toward me but it did not give me very much warning. That is a little concern.

Still trying to figure out configurations and how to read and decipher the differing bandwidths and figure out what is real threat and what is not. I want to keep it. I hope it gives me more reason to do so over the next few weeks. Any advice y'all can offer is greatly appreciated.

I have had plenty of warning with KA with mine. Was it a constant on signal or a trigger signal/ instant on.

With genuine LASER alerts, you'll typically see a stationary LEO in the median or along the side of the road. If you're not seeing one, then the most probable cause are the LED tail lights and runners on newer vehicles.

Your LEO may have been running I/O Ka. In other words, the cop is driving with his radar on "stand-by", and then quickly triggers it "on" when he sees someone that he thinks may be speeding. It can be deadly when you aren't running with a group of other drivers. Learn to use a "rabbit". This is another driver ahead of you, and you let him take a lead position, while you follow behind (perhaps 1500 feet behind). If the LEO targets the rabbit, you'll detect the threat and you can check your speed.

It comes with practice and with time. You'll get there.

That's good to know about the rabbit. I didn't realize you needed to give that much distance between the two cars. I thought it was more along the lines of 100-200 feet.

Thanks for the useful tips. That I/O radar is not fair! I was on a backwater two lane road so he would have had me if I had been really speeding. Does it turn on automatically when it senses another car or does the LEO have to turn it on? He may have been messing with me as he could have saw the RD in the dash window. I am going to lower it.

I noticed everything you have on your car. Do you have any jamming devices? Do you just not like getting tickets or do you have all of that for research?

I usually have a decent distance behind my "pace car" or "rabbit" when I did that with or without an RD. That way the LEO would get him/her first. I like to hide inside the middle of a pack that is moving fast anyway.

The LEO manually triggers the speed gun, at his discretion.

I have the Laser Shifter Pro (for shifting / jamming LIDAR).

I have all of my equipment primarily because I'm a Search-and-Rescue volunteer with Team Yankee One (www.yankeeone.org), and because I want to be situationally-aware. When an emergency emerges, I load my "Go" kits and head to the emergency. It's necessary to be able to respond as quickly as possible, and arrive safely. I've worked thru several devastating tornado disasters. Some of the worst ones were: Joplin - 2011; Branson, MO - 2012; West Liberty, KY - 2012; Moore, OK - 2013; El Reno, OK - 2013.

FYI, I've been pulled over twice on my way to disasters, and both times the LEOs gave me warnings and well-wishes after they saw the emergency supplies and go gear in my car.

It's an extra layer of protection, used in conjunction with my LSP. So far, so good!

I was not aware of this product before now.

Is it of any value on the rear of a car in an area with LOTS of Laser Speed Cameras that "shoot" you from behind from very close range after you've passed the camera?
