Default Upgrade from 9500ix to MAX 360 ???

Hello I currently have the 9500ix and it false alerts all the time and has several red light camera warnings that have been taken down.

I'm considering upgrading to the Max 360 because it has the filtering feature to limit false positives especially from the newer cars with radar for their proximity detectors.

Anyone else make the upgrade? Are you happy with the upgrade?

I used a 9500ix for years. I own several of Escort's detector, but I primarily use the Max 360c (but I also have a Max 360, too).

The detector enjoys some of the best flash signal rejection technology among all detectors and you'll come to value the arrows, too.

My advice is to get Max 360 (or a 360c).It's like night-and-day when compared with the 9500ix.

Absolutely agree with TBNTX.

Also, be sure the latest software is installed if/when you get it.
Its BSM filters are way beyond the 9500ix and it has directional arrows you will soon find are invaluable at pinpointing radar sources.
I too have been there and it's a great upgrade.

With respect to the removed RLCs, if you have the latest database just email ER and let them know the cameras are gone and they will check it out and adjust the database if necessary.

I upgraded from a different 'non filtered' Escort and this is the only way to drive now. Again, as others stated it is imperative that you install Detector Tools Pro and update your unit once you receive it for it to have the latest filtering and bug fixes.

That said I would recommend you use the update all from the drop down at the top of the program to make sure it is fully updated.

Several hundred thousand users a year make an up-grade like this and have been for several years now. Every detector manufacturer has had to deal with this problem so their brand users are doing the same as well. Outdated detectors now have become new car detectors. For the best filtering stick to one of Escorts all digital models like the Max II, Max 360, and Max 360c.

The 9500ix is so bad with BSM falses I wonít sell it. No one should have this on their windshield. The 360 standard is quite capable though the laser false rate makes me want to turn that band off. It canít deal with iPhone Face ID and it gives me too many tollway falses.

I came from the 9500ix and now have the 360 along with the ZW5 laser jammer and I can tell you I haven't looked back. It's a very quiet detector, alerts me well in advance of any threats and the arrows are a game changer - no more "head on a swivel" trying to find the cop.

I would absolutely make the change to the 360 or 360c - you'll be glad you did. If, for whatever reason, you change your mind Escort has a 30 day refund window.

Good luck with your decision.

I used a 9500ix for 10+ Years and it served me well. The 360 is a lot quieter and I really like the Auto No X setting, the setting makes the detector even more quieter if you do any city driving.

Not sure if we convinced Samurai to buy a 360? I was also a 9500ix user for quite a few years and it served me well. When I first got my 360 right after it came out I wasn't really happy with the unit due to lots of false alerts. However, after the latest firmware updates it's working great! I'm extremely happy with my Max360 and it's saved me a few times already! Excellent detector for sure!
