MAX 2 v1.8 does not have an IVT Filter change.

Newer MAX 2 units with serial numbers beginning with 97 use BLE, a newer bluetooth technology. Their v1.0 firmware is functionally the same as v1.8 firmware of the classic MAX 2.

Thanks for the clarification.

couple of things to look out for
Make sure you are not using Escort Detector Tools Pro to do the update.
Detector Tools Pro will recognize and show you what firmware is installed on your Max II but will not let you do any updates.
Try starting Escort Detector Tools first with your Max II unplugged. Once the software is up and running plug your Max II into your PC wait for the software to recognize it then hit the update button. The first time you hit it you will get the message your Max II is current but it should also ask if you would like still update it - hit the ok and get yourself a beer.
Thanks! I'll try that.
Maybe this will fix my issue with my iPhone 6s Plus not connecting.

*edit* It worked. i'm on 1.8 now. Thanks!

Default I think I captured them all! :-)

04Oct2017 “We hope to release new firmware for Max and Max 2 with IVT Filter update in early November.”

16Oct2017 “This update is coming very soon, weeks.”

01Dec2017 “Current estimates are that it will be released in January.”

15Dec2017 “MAX and MAX 2 will receive this free software update soon, in early 2018.”

22Dec2017 “Your MAX II will also receive an IVT Filter update soon (weeks).”

13Jan2018 “It'll be a few weeks at the earliest.”

19Mar2018 “MAX and MAX II will get updates to their IVT Filter soon.”

24Mar2018 “The IVT Filter update for MAX and MAX2 should be released within the next month or two.”

Not sure the Max is really all the updatable. If it really was why wouldn't it have updated much sooner? 2 things, I can't see Escort having an update and saying "don't release it" and at the same time I just can't imagine a team or an individual dedicating almost a year to a firmware upgrade for a detector that is now several years and models old. If the 2nd is the case, I would really like a job at Escort! Getting paid to produce very little and having unlimited time to do so sounds like a dream!

I'm a Principal Software Engineer, so I'll give my 2 cents. When you have multiple products that have different features/configurations, but largely share a similar code base, you want to architect your software to have good hardware abstraction and be modular (ie Object Oriented Programming). This way when you have an update for one device (eg the MAX360) it is trivial to migrate those changes to other devices (eg the MAX and MAX2).

The fact that it has taken this long to migrate the IVT filtering changes from the MAX360 to the MAX and MAX2 tells me that the code is not well architected, and that the functionality of the filtering is probably coupled to other unrelated features.
