It's a better choice than the replacement speaker being sold on eBay for several reasons. Here's a head-to-head comparison.]
Larry hooked me up not too long ago. Unfortunately, it just went out today. I have the worst luck Sadly, the only thing I have on hand now is one I ordered from eBay awhile back. Guess I'll put it in and see if it works and if so, how long it lasts this time

It's a bummer it keeps going out because I love the Redline. I may just have to suck it up and pay to have them look at it/fix it if it goes out again. It is getting pretty old now... I think I bought it in 2012. Still looks brand new though.

Kudos to you and 1225 KPH for making the guides. I used 1225 KPH's the first time and it made switching it out ridiculously easy.

My 2011 Redline just puked it's second speaker this week. I've already ordered the new one from Escort but I've got to say charging $14.95 (plus shipping) for a Chinese-made speaker that at most costs them 50 cents is highway robbery. They know this is an issue and yet they don't seem to have an ethical issue profiteering off of it every two years when it dies. A $500 detector shouldn't suffer from this. Shouldn't do it at all.

I wonder how many one can buy for the same $5 shipping charge. Might as well have a few extra one.

Do you keep it cranked 24/7? THat's probably what is blowing it out.

Also 14.95 doesn't seem too unreasonable to me for the speaker.

THink of it this way, they could make a speaker that wasn't as loud so it didn;t blow every 2 years but then everyone would complain it wasn't loud enough.
