Default Escort Live! Alerts Ka before Redline

It seems like my Redline has a minor programming flaw. In any mode, a Ka hit will be relayed to my phone (weak signal) about a mile before it's strong enough for the detector to display an alert. I'll see constant signal in the app after the warning with the frequency; when the detector alerts it's still the same frequency.

I would like the detector to alert on any little detection in highway mode.

Come to think of it, this happens in my 8500 x50 too, albeit with much shorter distances.

Thats a LIVE alert from another detector ahead of you, NOT your detector. IF yours had gone off on Ka, then another user coming in your direction would get the alert that your Redline created. Its like a Waze alert ahead, even if its NOT your unit doing the alert.

That would be an acceptable explanation, except it's not a live alert. Live alerts don't get SpecDisplay. Also, Live alerts don't say "Ka band alert.......Reported" 🤔

And yes, I get alerts on my reports when coming back the other way an hour later.

Suburbazine,
So you are saying that your Escort Live app alerts to radar signals before your RedLine does? That is not normal. It sounds like it needs serviced. We would need the detector and SmartCord Live cord. To set this up please call our customer service department at the number in my signature below.

This is unnecessary. Please do not reply unless you have something constructive to add to the discussion. Thank you

Depending on which phone he's using that was always a known bug for me with the androids. I never see it happen now, but sounds like he's using old equipment and maybe android......

The frequency will display 00000 when it does this.

Yes, this is what's happening. I've gotten to where I hit the brakes whenever I hear my phone duck the music to start playing the alert.

I'd surmise the Redline needs service too, sometimes it plays garbled tones or starts truncating sounds. It goes right back to normal immediately though.

The detector is about a year old, the Live cable is, hmmm, probably 4-5? Detectortools doesn't have any updates for them.

I only see three options here.

1) your misunderstanding the alerts.

2) you have some setting really screwed up

3) something needs serviced, never ever heard of this issue.

might be time to send it and the live cord in.
