UPDATE - I just got off the phone with support and was told they are aware of the problem. That it occurs on Android phones and they will be releasing an update to the app this month that will correct it.

Could this be a 2.4 ghz vs 5 ghz issue?

No, this happens trying to connect to the hotspot on my phone. That actually what might be happening with detector working in the merc and not in the GM. My phone has a option to use 5ghz hot spot or standard 2.4. When I enable 5ghz, detector doesnt connect to wifi at all. When i turn 5ghz off, the detector connects. Pointless regardless since live doesnt work on wifi for me. But regarding your GM vehicle. See if it has a setting for that. Or see if its broadcasting in g,n, or ac. What years your merc?

2018 amg gle 63

I also would suggest that Escort post this limitation if indeed it is related to 5gz vs 2.4. Set the expectation that if you have a 2019 or newer GM this device will not work with your WiFi that way folks dont waste thier money. I'm not sure what the GM is using but I guess I will check and verify.

Months ago I verified with Escort tech support that my 2019 Chevy Volt's LTE hotspot was 2.4 Ghz. The hotspot (and entire in-dash infotainment system) is not based on Android and I'm presuming (no proof) that there is where the incompatibility lies. My iPhone connects to the car's hotspot without issue as does every other device I have attempted. The 360c does not get a valid IP address from the car but connects just fine to my dual-mode Unifi access points in the house.

Still no PSL on wifi. New live app installed on Pixel, and everything works the same, except now I can get the app to show kph.

Works fine on bluetooth.

Back to the drawing board...
