Get the redline. Most sensitive if you do mostly highway. I'm in suburbs of Chicago and need the filtering though.

You will have lots of K falses with Redline unless you use escort live. I don't bother with it as it's a battery drain

Default LoK setting on Escort IX does NOT work

I recently bought a new Escort IX to replace my 9500 IX because I was getting so many false K band warnings. Contrary to assurances by a customer service representative at Escort, I get a false X band warning about every five minutes with my IX, and I have it set on LoK.

Hello, I too have an IX and it has served me well so far. I came from X50 and original redline so the IX is a blessing. You are speaking of two different things here - lo k setting and x falses. I personally do not use lo k because I have read it cuts k band by 50% or more (I am not stating this as fact, just what I have read, please anyone feel free to correct me). That's too risky for me as there is K here still. I keep tsr on and yes some k get through but I watch the frequency and ramp up on spec mode to try to determine if it is a false or not.

I use auto sometimes that helps too on the falses. I have cruise alert set at 35, that cuts down a lot especially in traffic. I figure under 35 I'll at least get the double beep if there is a real alert.

Are you getting x band in the same locations, in heavy storefront areas or is it while you are driving on the interstates? This is where auto lockouts will help although I can tell you personally I like to lock them out myself. I don't see a lot of x band even in store areas anymore, occasionally on the expressway. If you meant K, it's the nature of the beast right now and the IX is pretty decent if you play with the settings.

Like I said, the IX has served me well I just had to do a lot of playing around with settings to get it how I like.

Yes, Auto Lo K reduces K band, not X band radar. Allow your ESCORT iX to learn and store X band false alerts. After about the third pass by them it will display "stored" letting you know that is storing it as a false alert. On later passes it will not audible alert to it but it will show on the screen greyed out.

The most in depth review I've seen on the IX, thanks Veil Guy and Escort Rep too for the info.
