Default What detector does Larry run??

Larry - I'm hoping you'll be able to share a little about what I'm going to ask.

I imagine you can run whatever detector you'd like so I'd like to ask a few questions.

1) Are you always running the newest detector under development? If yes, does that mean you're currently running the MaxCi360?

2) If you had to run one of the Escort detectors on the market (available to everyone for purchase), would it be the Max360?

3) Do most of the Escort engineers run the latest product being developed before it's released? Seems like that would be a great idea as educated users provide the best feedback.

4) Lastly, I know Escort sometimes recruits regular users to test the newest detectors before release. I've seen mention by some well respected forum members (Nine_C1, TBNTX and others) of running pre-production units. How long do these trials last? Do you give these users a month or two to get a feel for the unit and provide feedback?

Anyway, thanks for whatever light you can shed on this. I'm just curious about what happens before Escort releases a new detector.

Dan

1) Yes I am currently using a MAX Ci 360 the most. Testing on it has been great. It is a very impressive product.

2) Max 360 is my favorite windshield mounted detector, no question.

3) Absolutely, and not just engineers.

4) It varies but we aim for at least a month. We continue to use forum members for product testing. If I am interested in using you then I will contact you through the forum. One of the prerequisites to testing is to keep the testing quiet which we are grateful that our testers have respected.

Larry -

Thanks for your response.

I'll be purchasing a new car in 12-18 months and I'm seriously considering an installed system. I've only used Escort detectors but laser use where I am seems to be going through the roof. $3500 isn't chump change but on top of a new car purchase, it's tolerable. I'll be watching for reviews and I really hope Escort hits a home run with the MaxCi.

You mentioned in another post that the rear components are available separately. Very much appreciated as it makes the full system more affordable over say a years time span.

Pray tell, subjectively, how is it performing compared to a segged/RDR OFF Stir-O??

MAX Ci blows it away while being infinitely more refined.

I am sure its much more refined on K band with IVT etc. However, are you saying that on Ka band, its beating a segged Stir-O with the Max 360 CI front M7 antenna. It should certainly be quicker with digital processing than the old M3 based Stir-O.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying.

Wow...it sounds like the MaxCi will relegate existing detector hardware to the junk heap....

Damn. At least I've got my Max II until my new car install comes along.
