Default ZR3 Install On My Dad's Car

My dad's birthday was this weekend so I decided to finally have my backup ZR3 system installed on his car. On average, he runs into laser about once a month when he has to commute all the way to the east side of Houston; the max he ever speeds is 10-15. HPD uses the PL3 but if my dad doesn't get saved, I'll hear about it soon enough. He has a V1 already. I had my local car installer do the install. He has done all my installs in the past and did this one only for $50. At first, I wanted the heads in the upper grille but my installer said he couldn't do it because there was no space for the mounting bracket. He would have had to use adhesive tape. Here are some pics:

The shifters should work fine in those locations if installed level.

Looks nice, a couple recommendations:

First, I know people have their detector brand preference but if he were using one of our detectors then he could disconnect the display controller, all ZR3 functions are accessible through our detectors. Another benefit to using our detectors with our shifters is that the remote mute button will mute the detector too (and do Truelock functions with the 9500 series). It's a convenient enough feature to be worth mentioning.

Second, I would mount the remote mute button to an easier to access place. Maybe the picture of it doesn't show the location well, but it looks like you would have to reach for it. I have mine mounted in between my console and the driver's seat. It's discrete and I don't have to reach or look for it. Just a suggestion.

Thank you for the suggestions. My dad is able to reach the button just fine but I'll consider moving it to where you described. If he ever gets sick of the V1 and goes with a Escort RD, we'll do the shift-link option. I didn't know the remote mute button can control Truelock functions and mute radar alerts . Thanks for the info.

Yeah we need to market that feature better, it is very convenient.

How do you expect it to test?

The results would probably be pretty bad because of the car's color. The rear would be instant PT. I told my dad all this but he said some protection is better than none. As soon as I get the chance, I'm going to veil the headlights and put a cover on the LP. My dad said he would call me as soon as he either got a save or got owned...

I live in New Orleans. What stretch of road has been seeing the most action? I-10? I-12?

Just curious because the only Lidar hits I am getting is on the Causeway.
