Default Incorrect Speed Showing

Hey guys. I was having a lot of problems with being able to get a GPS signal, but it appears as if I got it in just the right position now and GPS picks up a few seconds after I power on.

The thing I noticed though is it will display random speeds while I am parked. It will go from 2 to 3,5,6,5,4,3,2,5 etc etc. This is while the vehicle is fully parked and not even running. Any idea why it would do this? I would think the GPS signal is either there or it isn't and should either display the correct speed (0) or no speed at all if it is a GPS signal issue.

Ideas?

I suspect that the positioning of your detector isn't well placed, or that you might have a windshield with thermic layering.

Where is the detector positioned, and what make/model is your vehicle?

Detector is on a BlendMount. Same location as my 9500ix, which never experienced any issues with GPS signal.

There is a slight difference in the positioning of the GPS chip between the 9500ix and Max 360.Looking at the top of the Max 360, you should se a "GPS" logo. The GPS chip is located beneath the logo. How is it positioned?

Another question, have you noticed "Bouncing" of the Max 360 while driving?

So today I messed with it quite a bit. I have been having a lot of problems with incorrect speeds including driving down the highway at 70+ and having the speed show 0 for extended times. Lots of "GPS lost" announcements, false speeds showing including speeds showing while the vehicle is parked etc etc. I took it off the Blend Mount and put it back on the suction cup and the problems were pretty much the same as far as I could tell. I positioned it in a few different places on the windshield. Nothing really helped. If the GPS chip is under the GPS logo then no matter what mount is used the chip is covered by it.

Also having issues with the mute button. Each press is counted at 2 presses so just a simple mute of audio will prompt the unit to ask if you want to lockout the signal. All in all I am very disappointed with this product. Not sure what I'll do with it. There are other issues with the arm for the camera mount being not straight but whatever.

If I return my unit to Amazon, what happens to my Defender subscription. Will it deactivate?

No, it won't be deactivated, but if you get a replacement unit, you'll want to get in touch with Customer Support to have it re-assigned to the replacement detector. See the contact details in my signature.
