I bought mine in 2010 when they first came out so I know I have the old style. Is there a way to mail in the old one for the newer version? Mine fell off so many times the cup broke off the mount.

The issue is that the cup is too stiff to mold to the windshield when it is cold but it solved the heat issues. Try warming the suction cup before you mount it when it is cold. Just holding it in front of the heater vents for a little bit should work. Then keep the mount on the windshield.

these aren't supposed to fall off in the hot and cold? i thought that was a feature. if i had it replaced every time that it fell off - you would be sendingout a new one every week.

Dunno, I've had two of these, one bought locally, one from Amazon, clearly seemed to be different "generations" as the prong that holds the detector was more pointy on one, other cosmetic differences as well. First was atrocious, figure that was 1st gen, second is better but will randomly just fall off, with or without the detector attached, more than once a week (before hot weather) and now even more often. Any way to know if I have the latest and greatest? If there is a newer version I might try that - third try is the charm? If not, certainly not going to try again.

Otherwise, LOVE the mount itself, can just click the detector on and off, though it is wobbly with a Redline.

Suggestion : make this dash mount capable. I wouldn't mind affixing it to the dash with an adhesive plate, for the advantage of the "clip" but as it is designed, it can't be done. Well, when I wanted to do that and looked, months ago, I recall the detector would be upside down and/or blocked by the stem.

Default Bean Bag

Check out the Bean Bag mount. I feel its the best because its easy to pick up and hide when you are away from your car. It does not slide around at all because its base is very tacky.

Only problem I see there, is the supercup won't attach to it (same as dash mount) and the "platform"/beanbag mount they sell seems like on big unit, since the detector is attached via adhesive. not sure where I'd store that every time I stop the car. doubt my glove box is large enough.

Unless I'm missing something?

The platform mounts with the adhesive disc pad or bean bag attach using a suction cup.

Mine keep falling in winter season. I have to remote start my car in advance to heat up the temp then put on the supercup. But every time I got home within 10-15 mins my car alarm armed and I thought someone break into my car but I realized it was the supercup fell down.
