The SR7's radar detection performance is comparable to the windshield mounted X50 and 9500ix detectors and better laser reception due to the externally mounted laser receivers. An installed detector provides the anti-theft comfort of a discrete, permanent installation and frees up your windshield.
The SR7 is compatible with the ZR3 and ZR4 laser shifters. If you already have a ZR3/ZR4 system installed then installing the SR7 is fairly simple: install the SR7 radar receiver, replace the ZR3/ZR4 display controller with the SR7's, replace the ZR3/ZR4 interface with the SR7's (same dimensions), and finally plug the shifters and radar receiver into the SR7 interface. Voila, a complete radar and laser defense system installed into your vehicle!
