I want to mount it up high in both vehicles, but I have a limo tint visor strip installedon both vehicles.
Will this affect the performance?
Can the redline see through the tint strip or should I mount it down low.
I am planning to to a hard wire kit in both vehicles.

On I-95 driving North from Baltimore, MD my 9500ix gives a false "Speed Trap" warning at the 80.3 mile marker.

I've driven that road every week for years and never saw a speed trap there or a place to set one up. Even if I delete it, it will come back as soon as I install any update.

If ESCORT could forward this to the data provider it would be appreciated.

Also, it would be nice to have directional speed trap capability (like the RLC's).
It would greatly enhance to the ix's "quietness".

I have been using my 9500IX coming on 2 yrs and have been all over the state of CA. I have yet to come accross a speed trap alert.

On other forums there are comments saying the east coast and central USA are covered well, but no one has seen one in CA (except one in the LA area a year ago).

My question, purely based on curiosity: Are there any in CA? Is the theory true that the west coast isn't monitored as heavily as the rest of the country?

I know location are propreitary and I'm not asking where they are, but could Escort share if there is even one listed in the db for CA.

I'll take my answer in a PM if you wish.

This is not a knock... purley curiosity. I've been waiting for one to pop up, and am losing faith that I will ever see one.

Nice job on the red light cameras.. those are spot on!!

Newbie to the forum, but 20+ year Escort user. Just got my Redline last week:D, and although I am extremely careful handling it, I noticed yesterday a smudge or finger print on the radar antennae and laser lens, in addition to some dust:mad:. I am petrified to even touch it in the fear of scratching it and reducing it's effectiveness. I didn't see anything in the owner's manual regarding cleaning instructions, so I was wondering if anyone knows how to clean the lens? I would assume you would want some sort of non-scratching cloth, like camera lens cleaning paper or a soft cotton cloth, but should I slightly dampen the cloth first or use it dry? Or should I not use a cloth at all and maybe just use a compressed air can for the dust? Also, what should I use on the case if that should ever get dirty? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
